Happy Thursday, PLC Readers!
On Sunday, 5/4 we met over at Portland Yoga Collective for a beginner-friendly, all levels yoga class hosted by the lovely owner of the studio, Jess. We had a great turnout with almost fifty readers coming to start their week with movement, community, and a little sweet treat.
Coffee was provided by Coffee By Design & Buzz Coffee and the pastries from The Purple Whisk.
Last Sunday, 5/11, we met up with our friends Forge & Fern Terrariums at Austin Street for an interactive maker’s market. Other vendors included a terrarium building workshop, custom wallet-making, and a charm bar for the jewelry lovers. We hosted a book swap where attendees could either donate $5 to the club or drop off a used book and pick up a new title from the cart. This was so fun and really cool to see how quickly the titles turned over! None of the books we started with were on the cart when we ended.
We also had free bookmark making supplies for anyone to take home with their new book!
Looking ahead…
Our first June event was announced yesterday and ICYMI, we’ll be meeting at Blue Lobster Urban Winery on Saturday, 6/14 from 4-6pm for a DIY pop-up charm bar!
Bring a friend, sip some wine, make a bracelet, and come chat about books!
The cost of the ticket includes all of the materials to make your own bracelet as well as complimentary light bites and snacks.
In full transparency, I wanted to make a note going forward that I’m trying to host 2 events per month: 1 free and 1 paid.
I want to keep the PLC accessible and inclusive for everyone, but when there are events that include materials, food, venue fees, vendors, etc- those will be paid events to help alleviate costs and keep events consistent, frequent, and fun!
Free events will be more laid-back, social hangs like author events, book swaps, etc.
Thank you all for your understanding and support! 🫶🏻
Happy reading,
